Five Horizons Health Services Names Public Engagement Officer

Tuscaloosa, Ala. -- February 22, 2018 – As part of its growth initiative and expansion of services, Five Horizons Health Services (formerly known as West Alabama AIDS Outreach) has named Robby Johnson, APR, its Public Engagement Officer.

Using a multi-dimensional strategy including digital, traditional, and direct/word-of-mouth message channels, as well as implementing/facilitating funded programs, Johnson will lead agency efforts to engage diverse populations, seeking increased participation in comprehensive and preventative medical care.

A native of Mobile, Johnson has resided in Tuscaloosa since 2006, and served as marketing manager for a local forest products and manufacturing company until December, 2016. Prior to returning to Alabama, he spent ten years in Little Rock, Arkansas, as manager and director of corporate communications for a provider of specialized rehabilitative services for individuals with brain injuries.

He obtained a bachelor’s degree in communication with a specialization in public relations from the University of South Alabama, and earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation in 2002. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and prior member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama, where he served on the board of directors as the chair of accreditation, and West Alabama chapter president. A 2007 graduate of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce “Leadership Tuscaloosa” program, he also served two terms on the board of directors and executive committee for West Alabama AIDS Outreach.
